Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Christen brought a vivacious spirit and bright, energetic personality to every part of her life. Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, she made friends wherever she went and touched many lives with her generosity and love. She graduated from Skyline High School in 2002 and fulfilled a lifelong dream by attending and graduating from Louisiana State University in 2012. Christen was also pursuing an MBA degree from Western Governors University.
Among her greatest joys was being Aunt “De De,” a special name given to her by her oldest nephew. She embraced this role with pride and loved her niece and nephews beyond measure. Family was Christen’s greatest source of happiness and peace. She treasured time spent with cousins, aunts, and friends, especially on their girls’ trips.
Christen was a fierce animal lover and a passionate advocate for animal rights, caring for all creatures. A devoted LSU football fan, she rarely missed a game, whether attending in person or cheering from afar.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Christen had a renewed and strong faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was always ready to offer prayers and assistance to anyone in need. She will be missed more than words can express.
Christen’s smile lit up every room, and her kindness touched everyone she met. We will carry her love with us always.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, July 12th at 11:00 am at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Christen’s honor to Friends of the Animals Shelter, Baton Rouge (FOTABR.org).
