Christopher Dimattia

Christopher John Dimattia was born January 2, 1976 and passed away July 22, 2012 at the age of 36. Chris attended St. George Catholic School and was a graduate of Catholic High School where he was a member of the wrestling team for 4 years. Chris graduated from LSU with a degree in marketing. He recently graduated from Baton Rouge Community College with a degree in Entertainment Production. Chris was an Eagle Scout and an avid LSU fan. He was a member of St George Church and the Baton Rouge Rugby Football Club. Chris was a very loving man who cherished his family and was a joy to them. He especially enjoyed his nieces and nephews. Chris is survived by his parents, Dr. William and Janice Dimattia, his brother Jeffrey and wife Janelle, his sister Gina Sommers and husband Jason, nieces Lily and E'owyn Dimattia, and nephews Jacob Dimattia, Jacob Sommers and Brennan Sommers. Chris was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Jacob and Ann Wichner, paternal grandparents Joseph and Virginia Dimattia and uncle, Dominic A. Dimattia. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at St. George Church on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 10 a.m. "“ 12 p.m., with Mass of Christian burial beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will be at St. George Mausoleum. Reception will be held immediately following the entombment at the St. George Kleinpeter Activity Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Baton Rouge Animal Shelter or The National Center for Returning Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
