

Clarence Joseph “C.J.” Tircuit, 95, a native of Plaquemine and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as a Licensed Professional Surveyor for 41 years. He proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Force as a P-40 and P-47 fighter pilot in World War II. He attended Broadmoor Presbyterian Church and his hobbies were hunting, fishing, playing cards with friends, and wood working. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 10 AM until funeral service at 12 PM. Funeral will be conducted by Rev. Hawley Wolfe. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. C.J. was survived by his daughter, Carol Taylor and husband, J.O.; sons, Timothy and wife Carolyn, Elwood “Woody” and wife Betty, and Douglas; grandchildren, Chris Webb and wife Laura, Tanya Thompson and husband Greg, Jeff Webb, Jon Tircuit and wife Catlyn, Nathan Tircuit and wife Jennifer, Brad Tircuit, Jennifer Johnson and husband Rickey, Kyle Tircuit and wife Leslee, Laura Taylor and husband Nathanael, and Bethany Tircuit; great grandchildren, Cody and Lindsey Webb, Gavin and Coen Thompson, B.T. and Ellie Tircuit, Kennedy, Caroline, William and Emma Grace Tircuit, Landon, Jaxson and Amelia Tircuit, Sydney and Jay Corsentino, Amanda Tircuit and Abigail Judith Taylor. C. J. is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Judith Major Tircuit; and parents, Clarence and Essie Ward Tircuit. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or any charity of your choice.
