Clarence Daniel Zimmerle Jr.

Clarence Daniel (Tinker) Zimmerle, Jr died peacefully early Sunday morning, September 28, 2014 at his residence in Walker, LA. His life of 83 years is defined by his love of life and family loyalty. He will also be remembered as always having a smile and an extended hand for family and friends. He was a Baton Rouge native, a 1947 Catholic High School graduate, an Immaculate Conception Catholic Church parishioner, and an IBEW Local #995 retired electrician. Visitation is this Thursday evening from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with Rosary at 7:00pm at Greenoaks Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. and Friday morning at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana, from 10:00am til 12:00pm Mass. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved deceased wife, Shirley Hernandez Zimmerle. Pallbearers are grandchildren Becky Dupree, Daniel Zimmerle, Jesse Thibodeaux, Joe Maranto, Brennan Bass, Shannon Culotta, Heather Adams and John Sullivan. He is preceded in death by parents, Myrza Gautreaux Zimmerle and Clarence Daniel Zimmerle Sr., brother Morgan (Dickie) Zimmerle, step-grandson Nicholas Adams, step-daughter Laurie Brashier and her daughter Cassi Brashier. Survivors include brothers James “Cooter” Zimmerle (wife Sylvia) and Earl “Cheatie” Zimmerle (wife Marianne), sister-in-law Joan Zimmerle, brother-in-law Ernie Hernandez (wife Brenda), sisters-in-law Gertie Cutrer and Pearl Thompson; daughter Karen (fiance’ Fred Williams) and her daughters Becky Dupree (boyfriend Mickey Devall) with her sons Dylan, Cody and Derek and Samantha Crochet (husband Corey) with their children Reagan Gill, Baylee Rose and Landon; son Dwayne and his children Daniel, Lindsay Dupre’ (husband Paul) with their children Grant and Ruby, and Phillip (wife Mary Beth); daughter Diane Short (husband Anthony) and her son Jesse Thibodeaux; daughter Cindy Maranto (husband Robert “Nufer”) and their sons Sam with his son Dayton Guercio and Joe (wife Ashlea) with their daughters Kala and Sadie; son Craig and his son Brennan Bass; son Barry; step-daughter Kathy Miller (husband Fred) and her daughter Shannon Culotta with her children Kaitlyn with children Kaleb and Aiden, and Duncan and Adalyn and his daughter Sheri King (husband Bradley) with their sons Cayman and Logan; step-son Donnie Adams (wife Jan) and his daughter Heather; step-daughter Becky Sullivan (husband Terry) and their children John (wife Rachel) with their children Baylee, Madylin and Jakob, Jeremy, Brad with his son Blake, and Kathleen Blood (husband Clay) with their sons Camden, Keaden and Kooper; plus numerous god-children, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family wishes to thank his good neighbor George Dunaway, his doctors, nurses and Southern Care Hospice for their attentive care.
