A loving wife, mother and grandmother and a homemaker, she died at 4:50 p.m.Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge. She was 87, a resident of Baton Rougeand a native of Franklinton. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was on Monday, Feb. 5, from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m.and on Tuesday from 9 a.m.until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ace McVay. Graveside service was atStoneypointBaptistChurchCemetery, Stoneypoint community. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Elliott and her husband, Leland, and Gloria Darlene Sides and her husband, Kenny; son, Sherwood W. Cox and his wife, Rosie J.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Cox; son, Steven Cox; father, Esco Bond; mother, Mollie Pound Bond; brothers, Ray and Wilfred Bond; sister, Barbara Clark; and grandson, Stephen Elliott. Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers. She was a longtime member ofOakcrestBaptistChurch.
