

Connie Stigall passed away on July 11, 2026, after a brief illness. She was 88 at the time of her death and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Tommy T. Stigall and her parents Cecil and Yvonne Bankston.
She is survived by her two children Lisa Edmunds and Stuart Stigall and their spouses John and Lisa. Her grandchildren Hannah and Gregory Edmunds and Matthew Stigall also survive her, as does Connie’s brother Dr. Cecil Noel Bankston and his spouse Helen and their children, Erica Hamer and Arlen Bankston.
Connie graduated from Baton Rouge High School and attended Baylor University where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. During her freshman year at Baylor she met Tommy, her future husband. Over the course of her work life Connie held many roles, some of these were teaching elementary school, serving as an executive director of The Louisiana Psychological Association and office manager of her husband Tommy’s psychological practice. Connie was also involved in many clubs and volunteer endeavors, some of these include YWCO, Tara Garden Club, and leader of a Girl Scout troop.
Connie was a lifelong member of area Baptist churches, most recently as a member of Broadmoor Baptist. Family was important to Connie. She grew up with a large extended family and often spoke of all the memorable times she shared with her many cousins at their family farm. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and traveled with them when she could.
The visitation and funeral will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home at 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. 70815, on Friday July 17, 2026. Visitation will begin at noon followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
