

Cynthia Rose Guichet died on Sunday, February 19, 2023 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana after a brief battle with cancer. She was 73 years old. Visitation will be held at Green Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2023 with service immediately following at 11:00 am. Cynthia was a native of Baton Rouge and a long-time resident of Austin and then San Marcos Texas. She was a graduate of University of Southeastern Louisiana and St. Edward’s University. She retired from the State of Texas after a decades-long career in human services. She was a committed advocate for people with disabilities and the elderly. She was a board member of SafePlace, a domestic violence services agency in Austin. She is survived by her brother Melvin Guichet, her two sisters, Maxine Guichet Helouin and Judy Guichet Sanders, eight nieces, four nephews, and her two precious cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jules Joseph Guichet Sr. and Addie Davis Guichet, her sister, Lucy Guichet Schrader, and her brother, Jules Joseph Guichet Jr. Known by her family as Favorite Aunt Cindy, her heart was full of love and she will be greatly missed.
