

Dale Strickland, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the age of 87. He was born on March 4, 1929 in Baton Rouge, LA; graduated from Istrouma High School in 1947 and attended LSU. He was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church and St. Martha’s Senior Art Group. He served our country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Louisiana Welding Supply in 1994. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, JoAnn; children, Lisa Strickland, Craig Strickland, Quinn Strickland, and Todd Strickland and wife, Jackie; step-son, Jeffrey Sullivan; grandchildren, Melanie Strickland, Lindsey O’Quinn and husband, Justin, and Dale Todd Strickland; great-grandchildren, Bailey Redd and Camille O’Quinn; brothers, Wayne Strickland, Carlton Strickland and wife Mary Ann; sister-in-law Rosalie Strickland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, P.D. and Estella Stringfield Strickland; brother, Neil Strickland; sisters, Mildred Mixon and husband, Louie; Doris (Cleo) James and husband, Earl; Roberta (Bert) Sevier and husband, Monet; and sister-in-law, Barbara Andrews Strickland. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 1 p.m. until Memorial Service at 2 p.m. The family would like to thank family and friends for their love, prayers, and support.
