David Keith Newman

David K. Newman, born December 1, 1949 in Baton Rouge La., passed away peacefully to be with God on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at age 74. He resided in Prairieville, Louisiana. Patriotic, he served four years in the United States Marine Corps from 1968-1972. He was honorably discharged as corporal. He was given the medal of national defense service and the medal of good conduct. During the course of his life, he worked as a heliarc welder for Local 198 and facilitator manager at Louisiana State University Fireman Training Center. He also managed the care of the Santa Maria Plantation for 17 years. David is survived by his beloved wife Cindy Ann and daughter Melissa Michelle, son Mark Dwain and his wife Bridget Ann, and grandchildren Conner Douglas and Paisley Kate Newman and Stevie Ann Smith. Four sisters Ruth Newman and husband Marvin, Debra Courtney and husband Kelly, Beverly Cannon and husband Gene, Audrey Rist and husband Charles. He also had numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins. He was preceded in death by parents Daniel Calvin Newman, Junior and wife Beverly Armstrong, and brother Daniel Calvin Newman, III. Visitation of family will be held on Thursday, December 28, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am and a funeral service will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park.
