David W. Rush Jr., passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the age of 40. David was a graduate of LSU with a major in Anthropology and hosted Three Hour Ambient Music Show at KLSU during the early nineties. He was an artist and his abstract and surrealistic paintings were exhibited at several branches of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library and at N Gallery among others. He is survived by his loving parents, David W. Sr and Linda Bankston Rush of Baton Rouge; sister, Heather Lynn Rush of Baton Rouge; grandmother and step-grandfather, Avis R. and Everett R. Messenger of Winter Haven, Fl; and uncle, Richard A. Rush, of Winter Haven, Fl. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jessee and Cleo Bankston; paternal grandfather, Joseph W. Rush; and uncle Joseph G. Rush. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 4 pm until service time at 6 pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.
