

Dennie Talmadge Cotton Jr. “Sonny “of Baton Rouge, LA. Born November 20,1940 and passed away on February 7,2021 at Harbor Oaks Nursing Facility at the age of 80. He was lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. He retired an independent businessman with The Advocate home delivery for over 50 years. He loved boating, barbecuing and family vacations to Dauphin Island. He loved watching LSU and The Saints. He was a Christian and member of Sherwood Baptist Church, Son Life Radio Broadcasts, and Christian Broadcasting Network. He believed in giving and donated regularly to CBN, Son Life Broadcasting, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Boy’s Town, Boy’s and Girl’s Club, The Lakota Nation, The Wounded Warriors and The Paralyzed Veteran’s. He is preceded in death by his father, Dennie Talmadge Cotton; mother, Lillian Smith Cotton; and his sister, Joyce Cotton Cannon. He is survived by his sons, Talmadge J. Cotton (Ginger), Dennie W. Cotton; sister, Nancy A. Landry; and a host of loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family extends special thanks to Mary Byrd Perkins and a great neighbor Rusty Marbury.
