The Fontenot family is saddened to announce the passing of their beloved “Nanny” Dianna, age 78. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lynn Long; her siblings Charlotte (husband Rayford) and Phil; her beloved nieces Adrienne (husband Lee, daughter Vivienne) and Isabel (fiancé Andrew); and her nephews Kevin (wife Lauren, children Hannah and Nathan) and Ethan. She was preceded in death by her parents, McKinley Fontenot and Clothilde “Bea” Fontenot, and her brother, Rob. Born in Mamou, Louisiana, Dianna spent much of her career working in criminal records at the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office, and later owned Answer Quick alongside her husband. She was a longtime member and past president of the CCLA Garden Club, and an extraordinary cook and baker, always making sure there was more than enough for everyone at her table. She adored her nieces and nephews as if they were her own and was known for her devotion to family and her signature pearls, red lips, and nails. She loved Elvis, Hallmark movies, and old cowboy shows, and never met a dish from her hometown of Mamou she didn’t love. In lieu of flowers, we ask that friends and family send a letter sharing a memory of Dianna — how you knew her and a story, big or small, that reminds you of her. Her family would treasure reading these. Letters or cards can be sent to Adrienne Fontenot, 1288 Kimbro Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808
