

"Be strong enough to let go, and be patient enough to wait for what you deserve." Dillon James Dawson passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Dillon was born on October 20, 1984 in Austin, Texas. Dillon resided in Addis, Louisiana with his wife and child prior to his passing. Dillon was a previous resident of Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, and Livingston, Louisiana. Since graduating from Tara High School in 2003, Dillon became a very skilled and talented electrician. He had an excellent work ethic and prided himself on his work. Dillon liked building and fixing things with his hands and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, riding his four wheeler and working in the yard. He had a quick wit, kind heart, and was always ready to help those in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Dillon is survived by his wife, Katie Soniat Dawson; daughter, Eden Kate Dawson and soon-to-be daughter, due February 28, 2016; Mother, Melonie Jewel Dawson and stepfather, Ray Guerrero; one brother, Chaney Lee Dawson and his wife Celeste Savoie Dawson; nephews Duke James, Marshal Lee and niece, Charlie Claire Dawson; father-in-law Patrick Soniat and mother-in-law Angelle Mouch Soniat; sister-in-law Madison Soniat; brothers-in-law Dillon and Jordy Soniat. He was preceded in death by his father James Michael Dawson. A funeral service will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 12:00pm. Visitation will begin prior to the funeral at 9:00am. A procession will follow the funeral to the burial site at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 402 S. Kirkland St., Brusly, LA. Pallbearers will be; Chaney Dawson, Mark Talley, Daniel Phillips, Hunter Fuqua, Danny Rosson, Robert Jones, Vaughn Ross, Mike Vicari and honorary pallbearers; Duke Dawson, Vinny Talley, Randall Haddad, Chris Lorio, Kyle Nezat and Taylor Smith.
