

Dollie L. Jarreau, 68, a native of Prairieville and resident of Baton Rouge, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Joseph Jay Jarreau; two sons, Kenneth W. Jarreau and Michael J. Jarreau; two grandchildren, Kristen Jarreau and John Michael Jarreau; a great-granddaughter, Savannah Jarreau; a brother, Jeff Villar; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyce and Wennie Villar; daughter, Sherri D. Jarreau; and brothers, Shelly, Roy, Henry, Raymond and Merton Villar. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, April 18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until religious services at noon, conducted by Pastor Joey Beeson. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenny, Michael and John Michael Jarreau, Joe and Rickey Berthelot, and John McCade. Dollie was a long time member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church and a devoted Christian who enjoyed spreading the word of the Lord. Dollie shared Jimmy and Donnie Swaggart's great passion for the message of the Cross; this was shown throughout her life by her dedication to Christ and His Word. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted her time and love caring for children and her family.
