A resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 72 and a retired architect. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jackie Arnold; children, Judi Anderson and Ryan Hydrick; grandchildren, Jennifer Doerle, Gordy Doerle, Nicolas Hydrick and Reagan Hydrick; beloved friends, Melissa and James Deshotels, and their children, Ava, Sophia and Sam; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ruth Arnold; brothers, Edwin Jr. and Jimmy Arnold; and sisters, Peggy Behrens and Betty Harrison. Don was an avid sailor and member of Pontchartrain Yacht Club. He was one of the founding fathers of the Lake Pontchartrain Racing circuit. Don and Jackie spent some of the happiest times on the water sailing with family and friends. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the religious service in the chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Gene Fennell.
