

Don went to be with family and friends and his heavenly Father on February 23, 2021.
Don was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on November 4, 1946 and moved with his parents to Berwick, Louisiana where his dad and mom began service in the Methodist ministry.
He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana with a degree in Finance. He served in the National Guard and the Army Reserve. His career began in banking at Fidelity National Bank (now Capital One). He entered sales at Bolick Distributors and ended his career as District Sales Manager for Mannington Mills. Don excelled in sales. Customers were more than customers. They became friends and family. Don had a zest for life. He was involved in the Jaycees, Sales and Marketing Executives, IFMA, and numerous other organizations. He was an avid golfer, loved his golf trips with friends and had 2 hole in ones.
Don is survived by his wife, Dianne Barksdale, two sons, Brent Allen Barksdale and wife Clara, Michael Joseph Barksdale and wife, Tonya. He has three grandchildren, Jamie Grace, Jack and Seth. Predeceased by his parents, the Reverend Edwin Joseph Barksdale and Mattie Lois Barksdale. Funeral services will be held March 2nd at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with service to follow. Due to Covid-19, masks and social distancing will be required. The service will be broadcast online.
