Donald Clayton Cowan passed away on August 11, 2015 at the age of 77. He was born on April 15, 1938 in Bristow, OK and had been a resident of Baton Rouge since 1961. Don was retired from Foster Grant, American Hoechst, and International Technical Institute. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Ruby Cowan, a brother Harold Cowan, and a sister Mary Reith. He is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years Norma Phillips Cowan, son Barry Cowan, daughter Cindy Cowan Oubre and her husband Steven Oubre, and daughter Tina Cowan; and three grandsons, Erik Elmore, Nicholas Oubre, and Patrick Oubre. He is also survived by sisters Shirley Michaels, Margaret Quigg, and Lynda Hunt; and brothers Albert Cowan and Michael Cowan. Memorial visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Monday, August 17, 2015, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
