
A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Beaumont, Texas, he died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, in Arlington, Texas, after battling lung cancer. He was 74, a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from DSM Copolymer. He received his education at Central High School and LSU. Survived by his wife, Minere Melancon Wall; two daughters, Cynthia W. Nunez with son-in-law, Samuel B. Nunez Jr., and Joni W. Watkins with son-in-law, John Watkins. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Caroline Grace Watkins; sisters, Jo Ann Moorman and husband Ernie, and Shirley Bishop and husband Benny; and brothers, William "Billy" Wall and wife Diane, and James Harry Wall and wife Dee. Preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Wall; mother, Georgia Wall; brother, Thomas J. Wall; and sisters, Brenda Lopez and Delores Paetz. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Jan. 15, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home chapel on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Serving as pallbearers will be Carroll Carpenter, Wendell Callender, Sammy Nunez, John Watkins, Billy Wall, James Harry Wall, Shane Breaux and Ernie Moorman. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Mansfield, Randall Davis and Clarence Lorio.
