
She was a retired longtime employee of Bordelon's Pharmacy, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge. She died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at Landmark of Baton Rouge at the age of 84. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Sept. 1, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary. Visitation on Wednesday at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Michael Schatzle, celebrant. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by her children and spouses, Kathleen Armoney, Ronald Armoney and Jerrie, and Denise Evans and Van; sister-in-law, Laurice Galland; brother, Cesir Decareaux and wife Joycelyn; sister, Freda LeBlanc; grandchildren and their spouses, Steven Corvers and Shana, Brian Armoney and Rebecca, Thomas Corvers, Rhonda Whitam and Neil, D.J. Martrain, Mark Armoney, Minday Majors and husband Brad; great-grandchildren, Joshua Armoney, Michaela Armoney, Joseph Armoney, Elise Schuyten, Maddie Corvers, Chase Corvers, Abigail Whitam, Hayden Whitam, Serenity Armoney, Tatum Armoney and Bryce Majors. Preceded in death by her husband, Eldridge Gabriel Armoney; sons, Darrell Joseph and Harrell John Armoney; and many other loving family members. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Dorothy was a member of St. Gerard Friends Bowling League, past member of St. Gerard Catholic Daughters and traveled with the "Friends Forever" group. The family wishes to thank the staff of Landmark of Baton Rouge and Life Source Hospice for their special care of our mother during her stay and illness.
