
Born on March 17, 1919, Dorothy W. Bankston, affectionately known as "Aunt Dot" by her great-nieces and great-nephews, departed this world on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Pointe Coupee Health Care. She was a retired nurse with 30 years of service at Stanacola Medical Center. A devoted aunt to three generations, she leaves fond memories to a special niece, Linda B. Cline and her children and grandchildren: Tommy and Connie Cline, Greg and Missy Cline, Tim and Trudy Aguillard, Whitney, Bevan, Clayton, Grantham, Benjamin, Molly and Sarah Cline, Haley, Steven, and Emily Aguillard; Peggy McCullogh, a friend for more than 50 years, and numerous other nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Thomas J. Bankston; parents, John P. and Aline Gautreaux Williams; sisters and brothers, Bernice W. Benton, Verna W. Norder, Gladys W. Moore, Mabel W. Shingleur, Jack L. Diamond and John Clifton Williams. Pallbearers will be Tim and Steven Aguillard, Tommy Cline, Greg Cline, Jimmy Benton, John Langlois and Reggie Stockwell. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Shingleur and Sidney Miller.
