

Bauer, Dorothy Belle JeterA retired secretary for Moore Products and resident of Watson, Dorothy Belle Jeter Bauer passed away at 11 am on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Ochsner Medical Center, Baton Rouge. She was 91 and a native of Castor. Dorothy proudly served her country as a U.S. Navy Wave during World War II and earned the American Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal of World War II. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East Chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 9:00 am until religious services at noon conducted by Rev. George Threeton. Burial will follow in Baton Rouge National Cemetery with Military Honors by the Women Veterans of Louisiana and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Tanya Bauer; two sons, Keith Bauer and wife Fran and Stanlee Bauer and wife Nancy; brother, John R. Jeter and wife, Pat; five grandchildren, Mika Bauer and wife Michele, Chad Bauer, Danny Sellers, Christopher Paixao-Sebring and spouse Mark Sebring, and Heather Thompson and fiancé Scott Lassan; and four great-grandchildren, Kailey Bauer, Claire Bauer, Tristen Sellers and Kloe Lassan. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel L. Jeter; mother, Vesta C. Jeter; and husband, Thomas F. Bauer. Pallbearers will be Mika Bauer, Chad Bauer, Danny Sellers, Christopher Paixao-Sebring, Scott Lassan and Danny Williams. Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Istrouma High School and loved camping and boating. She was a member of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, VFW, Baton Rouge Navy Club-Ship 661, Louisiana Women's Veterans (LWV), American Legion, Fleet Reserve and Red Stick Waves.
