Dorothy Goodspeed Bordelon, born on September 1, 1929, was peacefully called home by the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the age of 97. She was a resident of Greenwell Springs, LA, and a longtime member of First Baptist Central Church. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by daughter, Janet Achord; sons, Chip Bordelon (Susan) and Rick Bordelon (Margaret); seven grandchildren, Jason Burgess, Penny Patterson (JoJo), Tee Bordelon (Randa), Joe Bordelon (Beth), Geralyn Siefker (Danny), Ricky Bordelon, and Nicholas Bordelon (Lindsey); fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hansen Bordelon, Jr.; mother, Janie Frizell (Jack); father, Fred Goodspeed (Mary); brother, Harry Mitchell (Norma); and son-in-law, Rodney Achord.
Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 5pm until 8pm, and will resume on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 8:30am until the funeral service at 11am, conducted by Daryl Purpera. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Pall bearers will be Jason Burgess, Tee Bordelon, Joe Bordelon, Ricky Bordelon, Nicholas Bordelon, and JoJo Paterson.
