

A native and former resident of Louisville, Ky., and a resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 82 and a retired employee of The Courier-Journal newspaper in Louisville. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Friday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Bill Hodges, of Baton Rouge, and Suzanne and Floyd Garr Jr., of Louisville; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Cherry Carey, of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Tom Leezer, of Indiana, and Bill Leezer and John Leezer, both of Louisville; five grandchildren, Kenny Hodges and Scott Hodges, both of Baton Rouge, and Chad Carey, Sara Garr and Floyd Garr III, all of Louisville; and four great-grandchildren, Annie, Lucy, Andrew and Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Duke Carey; parents, Raymond J. and Elizabeth Ecken Leezer; two sisters, Clara Curl and Thelma Povey; and two brothers, Raymond Leezer and Frank Leezer. She was a member of St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church in Louisville.
