There is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous Judge will give to me on that day." (2 Timothy 4:7&8.) On October 21, 2014, while holding her granddaughter's hand, Dorothy Lee Deason went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ. Dorothy, was born May 1, 1919 in Tyler, Texas. Dorothy, known as Granny by her family that survives her, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her hugs, attentive listening, and "I love you's" will be deeply missed. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Deason Sr., her son, Kenneth E. Deason Jr., and her parents, Sam and Ida Allen. She is survived by her grandchildren: Kendra Deason Townsend, Joey Townsend, and Micheal Deason, her great-grandchildren: Joshua Townsend, Amanda Townsend, Hope T. Swetledge and husband Sean Swetledge, Adam Deason, and Sam Deason, and her great-great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Kayla, Karlee, and Katelyn. Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 1 at 10:00 am and Service at 11:00 am at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd. There will be a private burial in Tyler, Texas.
