

Dorothy Mae LeBlanc, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 11:01 am at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm at St. Jude Catholic Church on Highland Road. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was a devoted member of St. Jude Catholic Church since 1976. Served in various church ministries. She also did volunteer work at OLOL Hospital and the St. Agnes Soup Kitchen for several years. She was one of the first graduates from Redemptorist High School. She attended a local business college. Retired from Rubicon Chemicals in Geismar, Louisiana after more than 28 years of service. Survived by brothers and sisters: Clifton J. LeBlanc, Francis Donald LeBlanc, Marjorie Mautner, Genevieve Garrett and husband Fritz, and Rosemary Tuminello and husband Roy. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. Preceded in death by parents Arthur Leon LeBlanc, Sr. and Aline Mire LeBlanc, and by brothers Wilton A. LeBlanc, Arthur Leon LeBlanc, Jr. and wife Audrey, Russell A. LeBlanc and Earl A. LeBlanc. She loved travelling and travelled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. She enjoyed cooking and inviting friends and family over to share a meal. She appreciated most kinds of music and the theatre. She appreciated all her siblings, nieces, nephews and godchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity. One of her favorite charities was the Covenant House in New Orleans. This is a shelter for street kids who have no place to go when they are down on their luck..
