
A resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008, at her granddaughter's home in Baton Rouge with her family at her side. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She had a love for Cajun dancing and taught dance lessons for more than 13 years in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area. She attended classes at Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans. She also belonged to several Cajun dance organizations in the New Orleans area. She was born and raised in Golden Meadow and married and moved to New Orleans, where she spent most of her life. She was a parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in New Orleans and St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. She is survived by her two children, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her children are Margaret "Margo" Sacco Chouset, of Baton Rouge, and George Sacco Sr., of Gretna; granddaughter, Dr. Shelley Joachim, of Baton Rouge; grandson, Jonathan Chouset, of Baton Rouge; other grandsons include Johnny Sacco, of Longview, Texas, Brad Sacco, of Walker, Greg Sacco, of Bush, P.J. Sacco and Paul Sacco; and granddaughters, Shannan Miranda Sacco and Stephanie Davis, both of the New Orleans area. Also survived by three sisters of Lafourche Parish, Doris Bouzigard, Onise Galliano and Geogienne Gaspard; and two brothers, Larris Lathrop and Lou Lathrop. Preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Pascal Frank Sacco; and her loving son, Patrick "Pat" Sacco Sr. Services will be held on Saturday, July 12, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Pallbearers will include Jonathan Chouest, Johnny Sacco, P.J. Sacco, Brad Sacco, Greg Sacco and Dr. Byron Basco. Many thanks to Paulette Reinken, her special live-in attendant, who cared for her 24-hours a day in her time of need. Thanks also to St. Joseph Hospice for the special care given to her at home where she was to remain and stay with her family throughout this tragic ordeal. She lived like a queen and went to heaven like a queen which she proclaimed to be - our "Cajun Queen." She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
