Dorothy Lalumandier Selig, 90, was born in Baton Rouge, LA, on October 9, 1930. She passed peacefully away on July 30, 2021, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs where she was a beloved resident for ten years. Throughout her life, Dorothy loved gardening and spending time in her yard, a trait she learned from her mother, and she enjoyed the simple pleasure of a good card game with her parents, siblings, nieces, and anyone else who would play with her. But most of all, Dorothy loved and treasured her family time spent with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She was a devoted mother to Edwin Ray “Skipper” Selig Jr. of Gulfport, MS, Susan Richard (Michael) of Baton Rouge, Stephen Jack Selig of Galvez, and the late Stephanie Jill Devall (Steve); grandmother to Tasha, Jaci, Kyle, Brock, Todd, Joneah, Hayley, Natalie, Sage, Matthew, and Megan; and great grandmother to 18. Dorothy has now joined Jill in Heaven, along with her parents and siblings, and final goodbyes will be bestowed upon her on August 4th at 10 am during a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include her grandsons, Kyle, Brock, and Todd Bishop, Sage Brignac, and David Matthew Iles III, and her great grandsons, Dakota Brignac and Cullen Bishop. Dorothy’s family wants to extend their unending appreciation and gratitude to Golden Age and LifeSource Hospice for the love, care, kindness, and spiritual enrichment they graciously provided over the years.
