A retired employee of the LSU animal science department and the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, she died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 87, a native of Crystal Springs, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Tuesday, March 3, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Larkin J. Harris. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by a son, Stewart William Wilson; two grandchildren, Wendy Wilson Schiele and Mark Wilson; and six great-grandchildren, Kristan Schiele, Jonathan Schiele, Nathan Schiele, Grace Wilson, Emily Wilson and Chelsea Richard. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Copmann; two sisters, Inez Hood and Johnette Clegg; and grandson, Stewart William Wilson Jr. She was a recipient of the Charles E. Dunbar Jr. Louisiana Career Service Award, a member of the First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge and the AC Chapter of PEO.
