Duane L. Portero

Duane L. Portero, 90, a native of Jackson, MS, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on August 21, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Carolyn Beasley Portero; children, Charlotte A. Portero, her husband, Tommy Richard Moon Sr., and Deborah Portero Travis; brother, Charles Portero; and one grandchild, Jennifer Travis Holmes, her husband, John Wilks Holmes; and two great grandchildren, Jackson Wilks Holmes and Jensen Wilks Holmes. He was preceded in death by Antonio Portero Jr. and Ida belle Tatum Portero. He is preceded in death by precious siblings, family and his closest friends. He served in the US Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He worked out of IBEW 995 for more than four decades. He then worked for the State of Louisiana Department of Transportation as an Electrical Bridge Inspector.

Services will be held on Friday, August 25, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service at 11. Graveside prayers will be held at Greenoaks Mausoleum Chapel immediately following.
