"Dudley Joseph "Sonny" Shaffett, Jr.died on January 7, 2018. Age 64 years. A native of Baton Rouge and a current resident of Denham Springs. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Bobbie Ruth Dixon Shaffett, one son Benjamin Joseph Shaffett (wife Brandy), as well as grandchildren Presley and Anthony Joseph "A.J." Shaffett. He is also survived by one brother, Charles Shaffett (Laurie), and a sister, Rhonda Flowers (Bruce). He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dudley Joseph Shaffett, Sr. and Margaret Bourn Shaffett. After a long career at Exxon Refinery, Sonny retired as a mechanical supervisor. He was a wonderful cook and avid LSU fan who enjoyed spoiling his family. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 5-8PM and again on Wednesday from 9AM to 10AM. Funeral service in the chapel at 10AM. Graveside service to immediately follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideon's International, Samaritan's Purse, or the building fund of Hebron's Baptist Church, Denham Springs, where he was a member.
