I just met Dustin several weeks ago. He was assigned to Parkview Elementary, to walk through once in a while. For the short time we knew him, he sure did light up our school. Everyone remembers him smiling so much, and making cheerful conversation with everyone he met. We were so sorry to hear of his unexpected end. My heart goes out to the family. It's tough to lose someone so young and full of life. I just wanted to let you all know that he is fondly remembered at our school, and probably many other places around town. Who wouldn't remember that sweet face?!

So sorry for your loss, he is so young and had so much life ahead of him. My prayers go out to his family an Hanah. You can never make since of these tragedies but perhaps God need him in Heaven to serve and protect. Take comfort in knowing that one day you will see him again....

Deputy Dustin was a great man. All of the 6,7, and 8th graders were thankful for him keeping everyone safe at Woodlawn Middle School. He had a great sense of humor. It's shocking when you see someone one day and you don't the next. I remember when I was checking in at the desk and he was there TRYING to check me in but only got halfway, and gave the front desk lady his pin when she said, "ugh I hate these pins", and Dustin said, "well that's what I right my tickets with". The girl said, 'OOO! I GOT THE TICKET RIGHTING PIN!", then she asked if I wanted a ticket and we all laughed. As the just read, he was pretty awesome. Woodlawn Middle is very sad he left, but he is with god, and forever may he and his family be blessed with his memories. He will always be in our hearts, and will be grieving with his family. My families prayers are with you! - 7th Grade Student
