
A beloved father, grandfather, husband, uncle and brother, he died at 12:56 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the home of his daughter. He was 90, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Orleans. He retired from NCR after 25 years of service and was then the owner of Filing and Security Systems. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces from 1941 to 1946, attended Officer Training School in Camp Lee, Va., and served with the 14th Reconnaissance Squadron as a bombardier out of Barksdale Field on anti-submarine patrols in the Gulf of Mexico in D-24s. During World War II, he served in Europe with the 172nd Quartermaster Company. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church, 7880 St. George Drive, on Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. until funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Mike Schatzle, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery following the Mass. Survived by his brother, John Blanchard Ducote and wife Mae, of Sun City West, Ariz.; children, Marie Louise Ducote Bergeron and husband Joe, Julie Katherine Ducote Young, of Baton Rouge, Jeanette Marie Blair Collier, of Denton, Texas, William Stuart Ducote and wife Joyce, of Rhineland, Wis., and Thomas Kirk Ducote and wife Frances, of Baton Rouge; and grandchildren, Lauren Marie Young, Katherine Margaret Young, Tracy Lynn Collier, Jean Michelle Collier Foster, Nathan Ducote and Nicette Marie Ducote. Preceded in death by his wife, Marie LeBlanc Ducote; sisters, Marie Louise Ducote Daniels and Alma Elizabeth Ducote ReBoul; brother, Rolle Joseph Ducote; and parents, Alma Elizabeth Rolle and Edgar Arthur Ducote. Pallbearers will be Thomas Kirk Ducote, William Stuart Ducote, Stephen ReBoul and Joseph ReBoul. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Norman Joseph Deumite, Dr. Gerald Barber, Penny Perkins and Linda Vessell.
