Edmund Cleophas Bacon

Edmund Cleophas Bacon, native of Crowley and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the age of 87. Edmund was a graduate of Crowley High School. He attended ULL in Lafayette for one year then graduated from LSU. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma and Intra-Samurai Fraternity. He served three years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He returned to Crowley as owner/president of Bacon Buick Co. In 1972, he moved to Baton Rouge where he served as executive Director and Lobbyist for Louisiana Motor Transport Association. He was also a Mason and 32nd degree Shriner. His lifelong interests included fishing, hunting, cooking, and LSU football. He traveled extensively to 92 countries with his beloved wife Billeann. He is survived by his wife, Billeann Riddle-Bacon; daughters, Dr. Cheryl Bacon Tubb and husband Dr. James Tubb of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Dianne Tolson and husband, Dr. John Tolson of Lafayette; son, William Lawrence Bacon and wife Mary Bacon of Baton Rouge, LA; step-daughter, Teri Tyler Lawrence and husband Rod of the Hill; grandchildren,William L. Bacon, Jr. of Baton Rouge; Emily Branch McCaig and John Branch of Lafayette and Todd and Chad Carvell of Savannah, GA.; sister, Margaret Bacon Miller of Baton Rouge; and her family, Stephanie Miller Nowacki (David), Andrea Miller VanBurkleo (Pat), and Marion Miller Richardson (Jeff); and niece, Dale Ann Bacon of Lafayette. He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Nell Callaway Bacon; parents, Eunice Amy Bacon and Frank A. Bacon, Sr.; brother, Frank A. Bacon, Jr. and his wife, Bonnie Holder Bacon; son, Gary W. Carvell; and daughter, Cynthia Carvell. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA. , on Friday, August 5, 2016 beginning at 10AM until funeral service at 12pm, conducted by Rev.
