Edna Marie Wicker Green passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 after 80 years of a life fully lived. She was born on August 26th, 1943 in White Castle Louisiana to the late Frank Wicker Sr. and Anna Mae Cedotal Wicker. She was a graduate of a business college, and a kind gentlemen named Willard Orval Green gave her a ring in the meantime, and they tied the knot December 20, 1963. Soon thereafter, her time was devoted to homemaking for her beloved daughters: Donna, Anna, and Betty.
Her main passions were driven by fascination with hot air ballooning, and until she was no longer able, most of her time was spent daydreaming in or about the air with her husband. She was the biggest fan of LSU sports to anyone who knew her and never failed to cheer on the fighting tigers! Let’s also not fail to mention Elvis who was the only other man who could have a piece of her heart other than sweet Willard of whom she loved so deeply.
Edna will forever be remembered for her love of her children and grandchildren who she proudly gave all she had to love and place them before herself always. They were the light of her life upon her final moments especially providing joy to her and bringing further peace.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Willard Orval Green; daughters, Donna Green, Anna (David) Roberts, Betty Green; grandchildren, Michael (Jerri) Rabalais Jr., Michelle Rabalais, Patricia Green, Becca Roberts; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Eleanor, Luna, and Wednesday Rabalais; siblings, Genie (Ellis) Cupit, Frank (Janet) Wicker Jr., Hank (Pat) Wicker, Esther Wicker, and Billy (Carolyn) Wicker.
Preceding her in death are parents father Frank Wicker Sr. & mother Anna.
Pallbearers for the service include: Michael Rabalais Jr., David Roberts, Toby Vicknair, Frank Cupit, Cody Looney, & Patricia Green.
