

Edward "Eddie" Doran passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at age 82. A native of New Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge, he is survived by his loving wife, caretaker, lifetime partner and best friend of 62 years, Rita Miglicco Doran; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Randall K. Purcell, Cheryl and Frank C. Howze, and Renee and David L. Miller; eight granddaughters, Jana Purcell Scanlon and husband Pat, Heather Purcell, Holly Howze Davis and husband Greg, Heidi Howze Burris and husband Bob, Hillary Howze Weaver, Jessi Miller and fiancé Charlie Ruble, Caitie Miller and Lindsey Miller; four great-grandchildren, Megan Purcell, Alex Purcell, Patrick Scanlon and Bailey Scanlon; and three sisters, Marion Lavverne, Dorothy Adams and Dolores Collier. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Loretta Stakelum Doran; granddaughter, Allie Miller; brother, John Doran; sister, Mary Ellen Duplechon; and brothers-in-law, Sonny Adams, B.D. Collier and Doc Lavverne. Eddie enjoyed life and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a Navy veteran and a big LSU sports fan. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
