
A resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away at 5:11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011. He was 68, born Nov. 27, 1942, in Liberty, Miss. The former owner of S&S Yamaha and Driveline of Baton Rouge, he enjoyed car-racing, motorcycles and playing with his grandbabies. A fun-loving, free-hearted father, Poppy, uncle and friend to all, he will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Harris Stafford; father, John Glenn Stafford; and brother, Glen "Jr." Stafford. Survived by his mother, Edna E. Spencer; two sisters, Ann Dobbs and Marilyn Dye; daughter, Wendy S. Pate; son, Scooter Stafford; six grandchildren, Kricket Stafford, Trevor Stafford, Blake Stafford, Michael Pate, Brooke Stafford and Benjamin Stafford; a great-grandchild and the light of his life, Connor Heltz; and countless nieces and nephews. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Saturday, April 2, from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m., conducted by Brother Ed Jelks. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park to follow. Pallbearers will be Trevor Stafford, Michael Pate, Eric Mathis, Tim Williams, Jay Williams and Benjamin Dezendorf.
