

"Effie LeBlanc Carney, 96 was called home from this life on Monday, September 19, 2016, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello; MS. Mrs. Effie was born January 28, 1920 in Donaldsonville, LA, to William Joseph LeBlanc and Modeste Collet. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Jayess Baptist Church with services beginning at 8PM. Visitation will be Thursday September 22, 2016 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA. A visitation will continue Friday, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, September 23, 2016 with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery in Baton Rouge, LA. Surviving Mrs. Carney are her two sons, Gary and Donna Carney of Baton Rouge, LA; Emery and Tracey Carney of Jayess, MS; one daughter Darlene Carney of Gonzales, LA; daughter-in-law Vi Carney of Kingston, OK; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. We would like to give special thanks to her care givers Neoder "Pony" Brister and Rhonda Hackett. Preceding her in death were her parents, William Joseph and Modeste Collet LeBlanc, husband Price H. "Peck" Carney, son Henry C. Carney, great granddaughter Jennifer Small, sisters; Sadie Carona and Dolores Behrnes. Pallbearers are Johnny Reid, Bobby Wayne Tanksley, Johnny Hackett, Roger Price, Dr. William "Sonny" Carona, Lee Carney, Lee Gauthier and Bobby Behrnes.
