

A longtime resident of Greenwell Springs, she passed away Sunday, Feb., 26 2012. She was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Bryant, Miss. She retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish school system. She was a remarkably talented lady, an artist, a gourmet chef and an amazing seamstress. She organized the first PTA at Pride High School, and was very involved in Bethel United Methodist Church, and until her death, the oldest member. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 28, Williams, Glen D. from 10 a.m. until dismissal at 11 a.m. Private burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by two daughters, Dale Jones, of Greenwell Springs, and Cherry Jones Talbert, of Baton Rouge; three granddaughters, Amy Harper Little and husband Tim, of Nashville, Tenn., Amanda Harper Enright and husband Ryan, of San Francisco, and Raegan Rousselle and husband Duffy, Slidell; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor and Erin Paternostro, Harper and Jack Enright, Presley Little and Kendyl, Karsyn and Ryder Rousselle. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy (Dot) Wallace, of Greenwell Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, J. Richard Jones; parents, James and Mae LaCook; six sisters, LillieMae Norwood, Gladys Patterson, Mary Francis LaCook, Sue LaCook, Margret Clay, Ruth Miller and one brother James LaCook. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kendyl's Krusade Foundation, a private non-profit organization established in honor of Kendyl Lee Rousselle, thefourth great granddaughter of Mrs. Jones. The foundation is raising funds to erect a special needs playground at Tulane Hospital for Children.
