Eleanor Burton White

A long term resident of the Baton Rouge area, she passed away peacefully on December 24th at the age of 93. She was a registered nurse graduating from Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing in 1944, she was the former director of the Baton Rouge Eye Bank and the head nurse of the E.E.N.T. operating room at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Mayflower Society, and the Alter Guild of Trinity Episcopal Church. Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband Jessie A. White; son Auldon Keith "Don" White; parents John Clinton and Marguerite Platt Burton; siblings Annie Helen Burton Howard and Lucille Burton Howard. She is survived by her children Robert P. White (Rachel McKowen White) of Jackson, LA, Jane White Sellen (Michael Sellen) of Charlotte, NC, James C. White (Penny Nicholson White) of Chester, VA; grandchildren, Donn White, David White, Jenny Sellen Zieg, Donna Sellen Logan, Michael Sellen,&Garrett White; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, December 30th at Trinity Episcopal Church (3552 Morning Glory Avenue, Baton Rouge) from 9:00 AM until Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
