Elizabeth “Libby” Campagna, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on September 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, following a hard-fought, nine-year battle with cancer.
Libby was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt whose life was rooted in faith and defined by her deep and unwavering love for her family.
The daughter of George and Laura (Manno) Campagna, Libby graduated from St Anthony High School in 1965 and Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing and went on to have a dedicated career as a registered nurse. She retired as a medical review nurse for Blue Cross of Arkansas.
She loved shopping and going out to dinner, going to the movies, and watching LSU Football with her friends. Libby never forgot a birthday, faithfully sending cards to family and friends, a simple but meaningful tradition that reflected her caring and thoughtful nature, and she was the self-appointed family photographer, earning her the nickname, “Libby Luckett.”
Libby was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jo Carolyn (Joey) Langlois, brother-in-law, Launnie Ginn, and great-nephew, Hudson Hargroder.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Sara Ginn and Mary (Rory) Lato, brother George (Sue) Campagna, and brother in law Albert (Suzanne) Langlois; nieces and nephews: Steve (Karen) and Darren (Kim) Langlois, Mike (Teena) and Scott (Laurie) Ginn, Dustin (Rebecca) and Christopher (Courtney) Campagna and Breanne (Johnny) Curtis, Kaci (Genin) Roy, Rory, Jr. (Laura Davidson) Lato and Lindsey (Kyle) Hargroder; great nieces and nephews: Kayla (Josh) Zumo, Matthew (Lauren), Kyle (Giuliana Bossier), Jordan (Braiden Trim) and Taylor Langlois, Alex (Courtney), Riley and John Eric Ginn, Blair (Brannon) Bienasz, Jackson Landry, Silas, Camille, and Caroline Campagna, Blaise, Austin, and Kate Lato, Alexis and Foster Roy, and Laurel Hargroder; and nine great, great-nieces and nephews: Anthony, Charlie, and John Paul Zumo, Stephen Langlois, Collins and Landry Trim, Charlotte and Shepherd Ginn, and Marshall Bienasz, all of whom will miss their “BB” very much, as well as many beloved friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm (rosary to be held at 7:00) at Greenoaks Funeral Home (9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA).
Visitation will continue on Monday, September 14, 2026, at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church (16166 S. Harrells Ferry Rd, Baton Rouge, LA) from 9:30 am until a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am. The officiant will be The Reverend Eric Gyan. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Libby’s memory to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge (cancerservices.org).
The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Militello and staff for giving her nine years of quality care and her sitters, Larriel, Gerri, Shun, Sherlita and Mary, for treating her with care and compassion.
Pallbearers will be her seven nephews.
