Fisher, Elizabeth MorrisElizabeth Morris Fisher, 55, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 5, 2016. She was born and lived all her life in Baton Rouge but was well-traveled. Elizabeth held a Bachelor's Degree from LSU and worked for 16 years as a Computer Systems Analyst for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. She was a very accomplished flutist but chose not to pursue music as a career. She was a champion of fat people being enabled to live full satisfying lives. To that end she launched an internet campaign to ensure that seat belts be made long enough to protect fat people, and set up a blog and Facebook group to encourage the use of Travel Scoot lightweight mobility scooters. Elizabeth was socially outgoing, had a large network of friends, and will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew G. "Sam" and Leavis Henthorne Morris and her brother, Samuel Morris. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 24 years, Alan, and by three sisters, Georgia Walker, Kay Miller and Rae Morris, plus numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. A celebration of Elizabeth's life to allow for visitation of family and friends will be held at her home at 423 Castle Kirk Drive in Baton Rouge from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9. Donations in her memory may be made to the Claude L. Shaver Endowed Scholarship Fund through the LSU Foundation.
