

Ella Mae Bordelon passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at the age of 95. She was born in Abbeville, LA, and was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA since 1967. Ella Mae graduated from Abbeville High School in 1944. During WWII, she worked for the Office of Price Administration. She met her husband, Royce, after the war and they were married in 1948. They traveled extensively throughout the USA and Europe. After raising her three children, Ella Mae decided to return to work at Goudchaux’s in the fur department. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and was an avid Bridge player for over 50 years. Ella Mae is survived by her children, Linda Tate (Perry), Tyrrell Bordelon, and Mark Bordelon (Melanie); grandchildren, Allison Humphrey (Phillip), Melissa Zeringue (Clint), Janet Whitfield (Scott), and Scott Bordelon (Mikelyn); great-grandchildren, Lily and Ava Zeringue, Matthew and Andrew Zeringue, Ben and Anna Whitfield, Emersyn Bordelon, and coming soon, Bordelon Twins; and a host of other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Ann; husband of 66 years, Royce; parents, Necess and Aline Broussard; siblings, Anna Belle and L.J. Broussard. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 11:30am until the time of funeral services at 2pm.
