She was a former hospital administrator and chemical dependency counselor and past officer of LASC. A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., Ellen died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 52. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, 8484 Old Hammond Highway, on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Karnuas. She is survived by a daughter, Grace Calvert; mother, Charlotte Rutledge, of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Dr. Neal Rutledge, of Austin, Texas, and Hugh Rutledge, of Boston. Ellen was preceded in death by her father, John Edward Rutledge, who was of Oklahoma City. Ellen is remembered and missed by her extended family and many friends.
