
A native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, 'Bud' passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the age of 90. He participated in the D-Day invasion of Europe (Omaha Beach) as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II and honorably served in France, Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg and Germany. For most of his working life, 'Bud' was a salesman, and he retired from Fred Parnell's The Sports Shop. He was a long time usher at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, David and Linda; grandson and granddaughter, Chris and Kelly; brother in law, Billy Spedale and wife Theresa; sister in law, Melba Spedale; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Ginny Spedale; parents, Elmo J. and Elizabeth 'Bessie' Browning; sister, Nell Rose Guidry; and brothers, Joseph H., Singletary H. 'Sam' and John T. and wife Anna Bell. Visitation will be on Monday, May 6 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 9:30 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. in Rabenhorst Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Christian Burial to be performed by the Reverend Joseph Hung Nguyen. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery. Bud appreciated the assistance provided to him by others, especially that from Frank Carmena, Jr. and Bobby Spedale.
