
Eloise Polk McAdams, a resident of Central, was born Jan. 18, 1920, and passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at age 91. She had a special love for children and missions, and served for 50-plus years in the children's department at Zoar Baptist Church, where she had been an active member. Mrs. McAdams is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Claudia and Ernie Delahaye, of Greenwell Springs, and Barbara and Roy Barnett, of Central; and three grandchildren, Missy Barnett, Scott Barnett and Chris Barnett. She is also survived by three brothers, her twin, Elmer Polk, Donald Polk and spouse Francis, and Ivan Lee Polk; two sisters, Iris Lee Martin and Doris Polk; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Claude K. McAdams; parents, Wyatt Maxfield and Jessie Hausey Polk; and sister, Amelia Johnson. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Thursday, Aug. 11, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at Zoar Baptist Church on Friday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Glen Miers and Dr. Kevin Hand. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ernie Delahaye, Roy Barnett, Matt Martin Jr., D.D. Fuller, Dan Johnson and Richard Polk. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Barnett and Chris Barnett. Special thanks to caregiver, Wanda (Joyce) Hill; and previous caregivers, Cathy Newman and Joyce LeRay.
