
Elvin L. "Tot" Watts went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008. He was born Oct. 16, 1925, the son of Lonnie Edgar Watts and Lillian Smith Watts. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Glynn Vine Watts; three children and their spouses, Elvin and Marsha Watts, of Watson, Glyndell and John Houston, of Houston, Texas, and Melanie and Rick Irwin, of Kansas City, Mo. He is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses, Kenny and Alesha Watts, Kristy and Joe Ducote, Lt. Joe and Abby Houston, Jimmy Houston, Jeremy Irwin, Ashley and Derek DeWitt; three great-grandchildren whom he adored, Blake Irwin, Avery Grace Watts and Asher Houston; his sister and brother-in-law, Alein and Leon Aucoin, of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Earl Watts. Tot was a retired master welder, an avid fisherman, member of Masters Casters bass club, veteran of World War II, a devoted family man and a member of Jefferson Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, usher and teller. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tommy C. French. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenny Watts, Joe Houston, Jimmy Houston, Jeremy Irwin, John H. McNeely III and Dewitt Aucoin.
