

Emeline Drouin Desselles passed peacefully from this world on Friday, the 5th of April, 2024, at the age of eighty-five at home in the presence of family, clergy and those whom she depended on so dearly for her loving care.
Emeline was born in Mansura, LA., and was a dear and loving wife to Richard Desselles, Sr. of Marksville, for sixty-six years. She is survived by her husband Richard; her brother Ralph Drouin and his wife, Nela; her three children, Jan Easley, wife of Joseph Easley, Jr.; Rhonda Gibson, wife of Charlie Gibson; and Richard “Ricky” Desselles, Jr., husband of Elizabeth “Beth” Desselles.
Emeline shared her presence, grace and love with her four grandchildren, Joseph Easley III, husband of Alexandra Easley; Jaclyn Soileau, wife of Justin Soileau; Jessica Desselles and Derek Desselles. Her two great-grandchildren, Joseph “JD” Easley IV and Parker Soileau provided her with pure joy and inspiration during her greatest time of need. Her four step-grandchildren, Sonny and Sara DePaula; Beau and Jennifer Gibson, and their children were always dear to her heart.
Emeline is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Drouin, Jr. and Loretta LaBorde Drouin of Mansura and her brother Ted Drouin of Marietta, Florida.
Emeline retired following a dedicated career as a supervisor for Audubon/AIG insurance company in Baton Rouge. She was a devoted member of Saint Louis King of France Catholic Church, serving on the Ladies Alter Society. She shared her passion for life with friends and family through her association with the U.C.T. Ladies Auxiliary Group, numerous social and supper clubs and fun-filled travel throughout the U.S. and abroad.
The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers LaVonne Harvey, LaMeshia Harvey and Susan Louis and the outstanding staff at Audubon Hospice of Baton Rouge.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The following day at the funeral home, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, a visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
