
Erin Hannie James died on Friday, July 31, 2015, in Houston, Texas. She was 48 years old. Erin was a life-long resident of Baton Rouge. She was a Licensed Cosmetologist who was known to entertain her clients with a bubbly personality and interesting conversation. She was a great cook and hostess. Erin valued friendships, family, and community. She was a breast cancer survivor who refused to allow the disease to rule her life. Erin will be greatly missed by her family and friends but especially by her sons, Johnathan Quinn James and Jacob Matthew James, and her daughter, Anna Marie James. She is also survived by her parents, James Joseph and Patricia Copponex Hannie. Other survivors are her brothers and their wives: James Christopher and Nita Hartley Hannie, Brian Patrick and Cynthia Kinan Hannie, Joseph Shawn and Jennifer Courington Hannie, and Patrick Quinn and Angela Bateman Hannie. She was preceded in death by a nephew, James Patrick Hannie. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rabenhorst Funeral Home at 825 Government Street. Holy Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM on Wednesday night. Additional visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. The mass will be conducted by Father Cleo Milano and Father Michael Galea. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery at 4045 North Street. In lieu of flowers, Masses are requested. "When the time comes for you to die, you need not be afraid, because death cannot separate you from God's love."
