A retired electrician, he died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at his home. He was 84 and a resident and native of Sunshine. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, St. Gabriel, Thursday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Charles Landry. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his daughter, Mary Willis and husband Dalton, Sunshine; son, Ernest A. Sanchez and wife Teresa, Osyka, Miss.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Williams Sanchez; and son, Larry J. Sanchez. Pallbearers will be Tim Spillman, Brad Spillman, Doug Gallagher, Scott Gallagher, Michael Knapps and Marcus Roy.
