Ethan Joseph Van Gessel

Our little angel boy went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 4, 2015 on the Feast of the Epiphany. He was beautiful in every way and now lives in perfect peace and joy as he participates in the very life of God. Ethan was born in Chicago, IL on August 8, 2013 and was a resident of Naperville, IL before moving to Baton Rouge. His passing was unexpected and he leaves a hole in the hearts of his Mom and Dad, Heather and Nathan Van Gessel and big brother Isaac. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, "Grandpa and Grandma Van," Craig and Linda Van Gessel; maternal grandparents, "Pops and T-Maw," Allen and Mary Jo Taylor; his beloved "Gigi and Ox," Angie and David Manley; aunts and uncles, Luke Taylor, Cary and Ladonna Taylor, Sarah and Forrest Walter, Mary Kate Taylor, Jason and Melissa Anderson, his godmother, Clare Taylor and godfather, John Shipp and his cousins, Abe Walter and Rachel, Mark, John, Mike, Mary, Bridget and Sophie Manley; and his great grandparents, Allen Taylor, Sr. and John and Gaynel Bunch. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 749 East Blvd. celebrated by Msgr. Robert Berggreen. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. We will meet again.
